Further to our recent blog regarding the creation of new regulation 31HA of Building Regulations 2012, the Building Commission have since held an information seminar on the interpretation of the regulation.

The regulation stipulates a performance solution addressing performance requirement CP2 of BCA Volume One 2016 – Amendment 1 is only permitted to be via verification method CV3.

Alternatively, an application to the commissioner to exempt the regulation is required before any other performance solution can be applied to address the performance requirement.
