Managing Public Health Risks in Public Buildings in WA

The Department of Health has recently released a discussion paper on managing public health risks in public buildings in WA.

They are reviewing the Health (Public Buildings) Regulations 1992 to determine whether the public health risks associated with the operation of public buildings should continue to be regulated under the Public Health Act or whether an alternative body should govern this.

This is an important discussion, as public buildings are foundation of community participation. Considering the safety of occupants within a public building is paramount when a building surveyor is assessing, and making a determination, on a building.

This discussion is an opportunity for the community to decide how to ensure public buildings in WA are managed in the safest and healthiest way possible.
