The building sector in Australia is one of the fastest growing sources of greenhouses gas (GHG) emissions, accounting for nearly 20% of all energy related emissions. We believe that as a sector we have a responsibility to do what we can to bring these numbers down.

There are some very good social and environmental, not to mention economic, reasons for limiting the impact of any new construction. Which is why we offer assistance to buildersarchitects and designers with a range of surveying assessments.

Since 2006, governments at both a national and state and territory level have been introducing industry energy efficiencymeasures in an effort to reduce GHG levels, with more stringent building codes being brought in by the BCA during 2008 and again in 2010.

In 2009 the National Strategy on Energy Efficiency (NSEE) was introduced, specifically designed to substantially improve the levels of energy efficiency across the Australian economy, a major part of which was dedicated to the construction industry. The three-part framework they developed was a key part of the national building energy standards setting and had a major impact on the way we all had to think about new building projects.

Here at Green Start Consulting our full residential assessments for energy efficiency take as little as 24 to 48 hours and will help you to ensure your build project meets regulatory requirements. We offer 6 star energy efficiency assessments and full DTS reports. We also make sure that any additional state specific requirements are met in full.

In the non-residential sector, our commercial energy efficiency assessments include BCA Part J reports and provide alternative solutions for all aspects of legislated energy efficiency requirements.

For both residential and commercial projects our assessments cover new builds, additions and alterations to existing structures.

Our invaluable technical advice and inspections before, during and after construction will help to ensure that any building project you undertake complies with regulations, minimises the environmental impact and is as economically efficient as possible. This will comply with building regulations but we also think it’s the right thing to do too.

So, if you need advice on how to make your building project more energy efficient or how to make it meet the increasingly stringent efficiency demands, get in touch to discuss your project with us. With a free and competitive quote, you really can’t afford not to.

Due to constantly evolving legislation the information provided within this blog may no longer be valid. The advice given on this site is general in nature and does not take into account your specific circumstances. Please email one of our building surveyors to check what is right for you.
