To continue to help the industry ease into the new Building Act, the Minister for Commerce has extended the order removing the need to have owners sign Building Permit application forms.

This is a great step to help keep the building industry moving. Under section 10 (1) (b) of the Building Act 2011 the owner may be someone who has “an interest as purchaser under a contract to purchase an estate in fee simple in the land; ”. You can see how these two powerful elements combined can really get the building approvals process moving.
